How it started
A Kerala homestay with four rooms and a villa that could be let whole or room by room was taking bookings by phone, on WhatsApp, from travel agents and on Airbnb, Booking.com and MakeMyTrip. The register book couldn't keep up, and the same room was sometimes promised twice.
The fix was a booking desk built around one rule: each room, each night, can be booked once. Every room got one record per night. Booking the villa closed its rooms, and booking a room closed the villa. Booking sites were connected through calendar sync. Check-in, Form C reminders, GST bills and staff roles followed, because the desk needed them.
It worked, so we made it available to other small properties as InnRow.
What we believe
- Small properties deserve good software at a price that makes sense for five rooms, not five hundred.
- The phone is the front desk. Owners run their homestays between check-ins, often away from a computer.
- Plain words. Rooms, nights, guests and bookings, not inventory units and allocations.
- Honesty about limits. We tell you what calendar sync can't do, and when another tool would suit you better. See our comparisons.
